Quartet for the End of Time
On Thursday, June 14th 2018 at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in the Elizabeth Currie Gallery (New Pavilion), musicians Richard Hornsby (clarinet), Nadia Francavilla (violin), Paul Pulford (cello), and Carl Philippe Gionet (piano) performed Olivier Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time. Composed when Messiaen was a prisoner of war during World War II, this landmark piece of music inspired works within the current exhibit by Stephen Hutchings that is at Beaverbrook until October.

Works of Maritime composers will be featured for voice and clarinet, including Songs by Michael Parker from Newfoundland.
