Cellist Joshua Morris resides in Montréal, Québec. He is co-founder and Music Director of Ensemble Urbain Musique, a Montréal-based conductorless ensemble specializing in works by composers whose identities are underrepresented in Western classical music.

An avid chamber musician, Morris joined the Montréal-based Quatuor Andara in 2024, and previously was cellist of the Milton String Quartet, with which he won the 2017 Fischoff National Chamber Association Grand Prize. Morris performed as guest artist at the 2019 and 2022 New Brunswick Summer Music Festivals, and has collaborated with Michelle Cann, Daniel Ching, Charles-Richard Hamelin, and Violaine Melançon, among others. Morris has also appeared as soloist with the I Medici di McGill Orchestra, the McGill Symphony Orchestra, and was named winner of the Schulich School of Music’s Golden Violin Competition in 2016.

Morris is a Doctoral Candidate in Cello Performance at the Schulich School of Music, studying with Brian Manker.
